How to clean microfiber sofa stains
Before you begin, gather all your cleaning products.
-vacuum cleanerSoft-bristled brush
-A bowl or bucket
-Microfiber towel
-Hair dryer (optional)
-Distilled water or solvent (as per cleaning instructions)
-Microfiber spray on shield
-Gloves and mask
Step 1. Check the cleaning instructions
Manufacturers of microfiber sofas provide cleaning instructions that you should follow to ensure they are not damaged during the cleaning process. They write letters on the label to let you know the proper way to wash the sofa.
-vacuum cleaner
- Aqueous solution
- Solvent-based detergent
-Water or solvent-based detergent
-If there is no label, use a solvent-based detergent.
Step 2. Gather cleaning products
Gather everything you need for the job. You don't need to spend a lot to clean your microfiber sofa. Most of the products found in your bathroom and kitchen can help if you use the right amount and the right cleaning method.
Water-based cleaners include mild dish detergents, upholstery shampoos, and mild soaps. Get them or others from your nearest store if they are not available in your home.
Step 3. Vacuum the Couch
Your couch may be very dirty if you have pets or very active young children. Vacuum the couch thoroughly with the upholstery attachment to remove pet hair, dirt, and grime. If necessary, remove the cushions and vacuum all sides.
Step 4. Test the Cleaning Product
Even with recommended cleaning products, always test them to make sure you won't ruin your sofa. Apply a little bit of the cleaner with a microfiber cloth and apply it to the underside of the sofa or the back side of the sofa's “skirt”.
Wait about 20 minutes for the area to dry to see the effects. If the product works without causing any damage, use it to remove couch stains.
Step 5. Clean the stains
Wipe the cloth with the aqueous or solvent solution and clean the stain on the microfiber. Alternatively, put the solution in a spray bottle and spray
Step 6. Dry the wet stain
Hold the hair dryer 6 inches away and dry the just-cleaned stain using the coolest, lowest setting. If you don't have a hair dryer, open doors and windows to let fresh air into the room so the couch dries quickly and evenly.
Step 7. Fluffing the sofa
Fluff your microfiber sofa as soon as it is dry to prevent stiffness and fading. This task should be done in a gentle circular motion using a soft-bristled brush. This restores its original texture.
